X-Men is an American superhero film series, that is based on the superhero team of the same name contained in the Marvel Comics. The film rights were obtained by 20th Century Fox, in 1994 for a very hefty amount of $2,600,000. Later, after numerous drafts, Bryan Singe was hired as a director to direct the very first film. It was released in 2000, it also had a sequel that was released in 2003. The third instalment of the original trilogy was directed by Brett Ratner, it was named X-men: the last stand, and it was released in 2006.
Almost every film outgrossed its predecessor, and this led to a release of a lot of spin-offs. There were three wolverine films from 2009 to 2017, then there were four X-men prequel films from 2011 to 2019. Later, two Deadpool films were released as well that ran from 2016 to 2018. We also saw two television series – Legion and The Gifted (2017-2019). The series The New Mutants came to an end in 2020, the series ran for a total of twenty long years.
The X-Men film series, with thirteen films released, is the ninth-highest-grossing film series, grossing more than $6 billion worldwide. After Disney acquired Fox for $71.3 billion in March 2019, Marvel Studios regained film rights to the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool. The X-Men films, along with the Fantastic Four films, were rebranded as Marvel Legacy films on Disney+ in October 2020.

X-men Trilogy (2000-2006) Story
X-Men (2000)
Logan and Rogue are thrust into the conflict between Professor Xavier’s X-Men and Magneto’s Brotherhood of Mutants. Magneto plans to use a machine he built to mutate world leaders at a United Nations summit in order to gain acceptance of mutant-kind, but he is unaware that this forced mutation will result in their deaths.
The X-Men film rights were purchased by 20th Century Fox and producer Lauren Shuler Donner in 1993. James Cameron expressed interest in producing, and Andrew Kevin Walker was hired to write. Bryan Singer eventually agreed to direct in July 1996. Despite not being a comic book fan, Singer was captivated by the X-analogies Men’s prejudice and discrimination.
X2 (2003):
Colonel William Stryker brainwashes and interrogates Magneto in prison about Professor Xavier’s mutant-finding machine, Cerebro. Stryker attacks the X-Mansion and brainwashes Xavier into tracking down and killing every mutant on the planet. To stop Stryker’s global genocide, the X-Men must join forces with the Brotherhood. Hayter and Zak Penn were hired to write their own scripts for the sequel, which Singer would choose, with a release date of December 2002 in mind.
Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris were hired in February 2002 to rewrite the script, producing approximately 26 draughts and 150 on set. Principal photography began in Vancouver, Canada, in June 2002 and ended in November 2002. On May 2, 2003, the film was released.
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006):
A pharmaceutical company has developed a “cure” that suppresses the mutant gene, sparking debate among mutants. Magneto declares war on humans and retrieves Phoenix, the resurrected former X-Men member Jean Grey. Wolverine must accept that in order to stop Grey, he must kill her in a final battle between the X-Men and the Brotherhood.
The primary story was suggested to be Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men story “Gifted,” which featured a mutant cure. Matthew Vaughn was hired as director in February 2005 but left due to the tight production schedule. In June, Brett Ratner was hired as director. Principal photography in Vancouver, Canada, began in August 2005 and ended in January 2006.
X-Men Next Movie Release Date
It is being said that the new movie Uncanny X-men is going to be released in August 2022. The Uncanny X-Men: The Complete Series will be released on August 16, 2022. The collection will include all 105 trade cards, including front and back. Among the prominent X-Men characters featured in the film are Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Magneto, and Deadpool.
The series includes battle scenes, team photos, and a nine-card Danger Room puzzle card. On the back of the cards, Marvel Comics writers and editors have written bios, statistics, and trivia about the characters. The images for the card were created by Jim Lee, a comic book artist. Lee began drawing the art for the flagship X-Men comic, The Uncanny X-Men, with issue #248 in 1989.
