The plot of Stranger Things:
The storyline of the show is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, in the 1980s; the series initially focuses on the investigation into the disappearance of a young boy (Will Byers) amid supernatural events in the town, including the appearance of a girl with psychokinetic abilities (Eleven), and their connection to an alternate reality known as the Upside Down.

The truth about the new character Vecna:
In this brand new and the final season for this show, the Demogorgon and the mind flayer are toned down as there is an entry of the new villain; this new villain has now started to terrorize Hawkins. The name of this new addition to the show is Vecna, and he is a dark wizard who “curses” out his victims by traumatizing them with visions that are taken from their own trauma.
He makes them go so mad until they lose it entirely in a frenzy, and then he kills them through a purely psychic connection. Not only are Vecna’s abilities terrifying, but he also has a fantastic character design that harkens back to the classic horror movie antagonists of the 1980s.
The origin story for this new villain is not discovered until episode 7 when it is discovered by Eleven and Nancy. While reliving her memories in the Nina sensory deprivation tank, Eleven realizes that Peter Ballard, an orderly at Hawkins Lab who befriended her and taught her how to use her gifts to their maximum potential, is not the compassionate guy she thought he was.
While fans initially feared Eleven had gone rogue and murdered her siblings and sisters, it has now been discovered that it was Peter who was 001. As Eleven watches the carnage in the room, she completely overpowers Peter and shreds him to bits, opening the first gate to the Upside Down and sending him through. Peter is struck by lightning and burns as he falls through, and he transforms into Vecna. The gate shuts, keeping him within.

Where does Vecna get his powers from?
This is one of the biggest mysteries of Stranger Things season 4; the origin of Creel’s psychological capabilities is not actually explained well. However, it is shown in Nancy’s vision that he had his powers from a very young age. He was one of the very first test subjects taken in by Dr. Brenner. He had planted a chip in henry’s neck to keep his powers in check, then the chip was removed by baby Eleven, and that unleashed all his powers.
As I mentioned before, Vacna feeds on the trauma of his prey; all the people he kills are going through some deep personal troubles. Depression, bereavement, guilt, or an eating issue are all examples. The patients all have headaches, nosebleeds, and nightmares a week before their hallucinations begin. The victim then hears ticking and notices the scary Creel House clock nearby. The person will then begin to hallucinate, seeing glimpses of deceased relatives or their greatest nightmares come true.
When Vecna clutches their head within the dream, their body begins to float in the outside world. In the dream, Vecna crushes their head, fracturing and mutilating their body in the real world and eventually exploding their eyes.
