Fruits Basket (Japanese フルーツバスケット) is a supernatural romantic Japanese manga series, and it has been written and illustrated by Natsuki Takaya. It was also serialized in the semi-monthly Japanese shojo manga magazine named Hana to Yume, which was published by Hakusensha from 1998 to 2006. The name of the series comes from the name of a popular game that is played in Japanese elementary schools.
Originally the manga was adapted into an anime series of 26 episodes in 2001 by Studio Deen and was directed by Akitaro Daichi. Later, the second anime television series adaptation was produced by TMS Entertainment and was directed by Yoshihide Ibata. Its first season aired from April to September 2019, and its second season aired from April to September 2020. Fruits Basket’s third season, which is also allegedly its final season, aired from April to June 2021. A movie based on it named Fruits Basket: Prelude premiered theatrically in Japan in February 2022.
Fruits Basket Season 4 Release Date

Sadly, the fourth season of Fruits Basket is improbable to happen; season 3 did say that it was the final season. The manga was published for the first time in 1998 and ended on November 20th, 2006. The three seasons of the anime have covered the entire plot, so it is futile to expect there would be a season four for the anime.

When Tohru Honda’s mother dies in a car accident, she decides to go live with her grandfather, but due to an unsupportive familial environment and ongoing renovations of the house, she has to move out of the house temporarily. However, she is discovered by her popular classmate Yuki Sohma and her cousin Shigure who warns her about a landslide, so she moves out of her tent and starts living with them. There she meets their orange-haired cousin Kyo who just randomly crashes through the glass ceiling and then challenges Yuki for a fight. Tohru tries to stop him, but she accidentally falls into him, and then he transforms into a cat. This leads to an untimely discovery of the Sohma Family curse by Tohru. The curse is that the twelve members of the family, with the exclusion of Kyo, are possessed by animal spirits from the Chinese Zodiac. They turn into their respective zodiac animal when they are under stress, weak, or embarrassed, and when hugged by the opposite gender. When Tohru discovers this secret, she makes a promise not to let this slip her tongue to the outside world. However, the curse goes far beyond her imagination and stretches beyond her thinking level, and is much darker than it seems. She then sets out to break the curse and, in the journey, encounters much more dangerous vengeful Zodiac-possessed spirits. She also meets their leader named Akito, who occupies the position of a God in the Chinese legend.
