Eve Season 1 Recap

Eve chronicles the story of a 2 trillion won divorce lawsuit which shocked the entire nation. At the centre of the lawsuit is Lee La-el (played by Seo Yea-Ji), who has a tragic past that she is hiding from everyone. She is there for revenge, and she is shrouding all of that with her charming personality and her extraordinary beauty.

When Lee La-el was just a child, her father, who was a genius scientist, was killed by some powerful people. She was also severely beaten up in the whole altercation, and so she got to see all the people who were involved in all this. This destroyed her entire family and her childhood. Then La-el decides to take revenge for his father’s death. She prepares herself for the next 13 years. Her target is Kang Yoon-Kyum (played by Park Byung-eun), who is the owner of the LY group.

We also saw some flashbacks from La-el’s past, where we saw how the powerful people were committing violence against her and her family members, and we saw her father being killed as well. Further, La-el was sent to The US by one Seo Eun-Pyeong, who helped her get there, and then she returned to Korea after thirteen long years. She married a manager from the LY group. In the opening episode, we saw Eve dancing at a significant function, and there we saw Kang Yoon-Kyum being totally enamoured with her beauty and her grace. Everyone loved the dance performance, and she was welcomed warm-heartedly.

Later, she tries to get close to Kang’s wife, Han So-ra, so that she can be included more and more in their social shenanigans. She gets invited to a big party at their private home, and this is where Eve approaches Kang and tells him that she is attracted to him, he, however, denies any affection towards her, and so she walks away. She then encounters one of the guests at the party who was the leading killer of her father. La-el has a panic attack, and she walks out of the venue and self-harms. Kang sees her and does her first aid. He asks her why did she do that and what might she be hiding. He also said that he gets a dangerous sense just from being around her. She leaves the room.
